John 2:13-22 (English Standard Version)
Jesus Cleanses the Temple
13(A) The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus(B) went up to Jerusalem. 14(C) In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers sitting there. 15And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen. And he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. 16And he told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; do not make(D) my Father’s house a house of trade.” 17His disciples remembered that it was written,(E) “Zeal for your house will consume me.”
18So the Jews said to him,(F) “What sign do you show us for doing these things?” 19Jesus answered them, (G) “Destroy this temple, and in three days(H) I will raise it up.” 20The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?” 21But he was speaking about(I) the temple of his body. 22When therefore he was raised from the dead,(J) his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed(K) the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.

Generosity is the Hallmark
2 Corinthians 9:6-15 (English Standard Version)
The Cheerful Giver
6The point is this:(A) whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully[a] will also reap bountifully. 7Each one must give as he has decided in his heart,(B) not reluctantly or under compulsion, for(C) God loves a cheerful giver. 8And(D) God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency[b] in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. 9As it is written,
(E) “He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever.”
10He who supplies(F) seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and(G) increase the harvest of your righteousness. 11(H) You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which(I) through us will produce thanksgiving to God. 12For the ministry of this service is not only supplying(J) the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God. 13By their approval of this service,(K) they[c] will glorify God because of your submission flowing from your(L) confession of the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of your contribution for them and for all others, 14while they long for you and pray for you, because of the surpassing grace of God upon you. 15(M) Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!
